Look for details coming soon. However, March 21 (the first day of Spring) has been targeted as the date to celebrate the start of the Gibson Grant outdoor "Social Season' and end of winter....

A spring fling sounds great.
Additionally, I tossed around the idea to a couple of people that we (as a neighborhood) could start partying with a purpose. Since we all love to get together and socialize - how about combining that with raising donations for a good cause?
Googled a bit and sort of like... Work hard - live hard - give back even more
The opportunities for fun, creative events are endless. Not to mention how we could impact our local community or some other worthy cause.
If people are interested I am willing to help organize.

I could come up with a ton of ideas but would love to hear from the group as well. Maybe since it is a spring thing we could raise a donation for a local environmental cause?

I love the idea. Matt had mentioned a community clean up day to clean up the waterfront which is pretty nasty. I mentioned it to the sheriff that offered to help. Maybe we get someone (sheriff or developer) to get a dumpster in and clean up followed by a happy hour of course.

Heather that is a great idea to incorporate with the spring fling. I believe the date being tossed around for the event is Saturday, March 19. Possibly Paul can chime in and correct me...but the 21st would be a weekday and that would prevent us from getting too happy at a happy hour.
I can email Mike about getting a dumpster and maybe he would even donate some cheer for the happy hour to follow? The idea of "planting/growing" oysters out in the water by the manor house has also been mentioned. Not for our consumption but a way to clean the water. I am sure the kids would get a kick out of this.
Any other thoughts?
