There was mention of a gg Halloween party this fall at the last community gathering. Is anyone still interested in throwing a get together? I am happy to help organize and follow up with Elm St. for funds so we can do something neat for the kids and kids at heart.
I am moon bounce and grilled out from the summer so suggestions for other fun activities would be great. I was thinking of games/crafts, costume contest, haunted path to the pavilion, porch decorating contest, spooky happy hour for the adults.
If interest for a community wide event has died out - no worries the Claiborne Zeitlin's can go at it alone.

We love the porch decorating contest. What a great thing to do! We also love the haunted path. We will contribute whatever! Sarah

Great idea. Spookey haunted path is cool. Might be a bit scarey for the little ones. But the older kids would have fun. Also could do a pumpkin decorating / carving contest. Just let me know we are happy to help!

Talk of a bonfire sounds really cool and easy. A kid costume contest, carve pumpkins, and roast marshmellows. I will ask the manor house if they could be judge for a porch/front yard decorating contest.

Sounds like a great idea. The decorating contest and bonfire sounds fun. We could have a bonfire at the barn and then something spooky for the older kids down at the barn closer to the water maybe.

Would the events take place on Halloween which is a Sunday? Or possibly Saturday night?

Yep thinking Sat. night. I talked to the manor house today and they will get back to me if they have time to judge the porch contest. Would be neat to walk through the community and see everyone’s creativity. The kids would get a big kick out of it.

The manor house will post the attached and distribute via email. Let me know if you want to help out with the bonfire by getting wood and/or decorating for the kids. I have some party decorations from years past. Attachments:

FYI - Nicole and I discovered an amazing Haloween story in Parole (next to the town center - between town center and Route 50). It's in a big tent. It is the biggest and most unique Halloween store we've ever seen. It's not super cheap..but they will have whatever you are looking for to decorate..and their kids/adult costume section is HUUUUGGGEEE.

Planning on doing that guess what is in the box thing......like cold wet pasta for brains, peeled grapes for eyeballs. Any ideas out there for things that feel like gross body parts, bugs, or creepy things? Also, can someone suggest a place to get firewood for the fire pit? Would love to just get it delivered too.
