My family visited your AMAZING neighborhood today. I can't believe that something like it exists. Now I am even more impressed because you have a forum for potential homeowners. I was wondering, is this a good neighborhood to raise kids in? I have two little girls (4 and 1). What are the elementary schools like? Do kids in the neighborhood attend Kent Elementary or Bayside Elementary? I saw that Matapeake Elementary, the schools that kids attend on the southern end of the island, rates slightly higher on greatschools.org.
Is it a safe enough area for the kids to be able to run around? Do children in the neighborhood play with one another?

Hello Melissa,
Yes, we all do love this neighborhood! It is a great neighborhood with a great mix of children of all ages. While my son doesn't start kindergarten till next year, I've heard the schools are great on the island. Kent Island ES has PreK - 2nd grade and Bayside ES has 3rd-5th grade. These are the two elementary schools that our neighborhood feeds into. We do live in a very safe neighborhood with a great sense of community. There are always fun activities for families to participate in and lots of ways to get to know your neighbors. For us, returning home each day is like a breath of fresh air! -The Skipper Family
We moved from VT to MD and Choose GG five years ago because of the high rating of the schools and abundance of children in our neighborhood. It is a great place for children!! One can be so lucky to grow up in such a safe and fun community. Steve and Michelle.

Norlands: Someone cut trees down out front!

jtesr77: How about the pine trees along Macum Creek road that were cut down by our own residents because they obscured their views to the West? Todd said fines were levied against the homeowners/Developer and they were in the process of billing the individuals.

jtesr77: It's deplorable enough that Mike Burlbaugh would hack down mature pine trees that boarder the "55 acres of wetlands" without the homeowners input. Even more reprehensible that our own community members would be so self consumed to wreak such havoc.

salmfamily: Unfortunately, fines against the offenders are a one time thing. The egregious devastation at the hands of our neighbors to surrounding flora and fauna will take years to recover; an example of selfishness and avarice.
