Has anyone been contacted regarding windows causing potentially damaging reflections? Or has anyone had their windows "fixed" to reduce this issue?

Sounds like a sales pitch. Been here over 3 years and to my knowledge no on has been harmed walking by our windows

Sorry, should have clarified. The high efficiency windows used today have the potential to reflect the sun causing damage to things like plastic shutters. It has apparently happened here. Certain builders are offering to replace the glass in specific windows if this has happened. Was just wondering if anyone had this done.

Haven't seen that. Are they replacing under warranty?

coincidently I did see what you are talking about at a neighbors house. the shutters have a warped appearance due to the reflection from another house. the fix as I understand it is replacing the windows with ones with some sort of glaze on them. not sure what is involved or who foots the bill.

So, my home on Evelyne Street has all ruined shutters on the Nirth facing side of our home--5 pairs of shutters. All due to high intensity reflection from our neighbor's home.
Unfortunately, their home is 3-4 years older than ours and Craftstar, their builder, refuses to help. Koch claims no responsibility as the problem is with a Craftstar home. (They have agreed to remove and replace new shutters we buy).
We have invested in 2 pairs of shutters now made from a composite material. The manufacturer has not had a shutter "fail" due to this high intensity reflection so we are a trial installation for them. We will have the new shutters in place for a year or more to determine wear and warp results before investing in more.

There have been three instances that I have seen with this issue. One as mentioned above the reflection can cause melting of shutters, two the reflection started a fire in a back yard mulch that lead to the fence catching on fire and third mulch that caught the front mulch bed on fire. I know the shutter instance was taken care of between the home owner and the builder.
