Let's pray for some good weather this year because we hope for a bigger and better Halloween event! A few of us have already started planning and we are shooting for the weekend before Halloween.
For those of you who are new to the community...BEWARE. Last year we had adults and kids running out of our "torture chamber.". If you prefer something more tame, we will have G-Rated festivities, and even "less scary" fun for everyone.
I can't give away too many details, but Ryan H, Larry D, Heather Z, and myself will be in charge of the "scary" portion. If you would like to participate in planning, reply here or email me at lizsann@gmail.com. We will have a few committees varying in scare level and I can divide everyone up. We are still working on the overall plan and welcome new ideas!

Hi Liz! I would love to help out with the Halloween festivities this year. We moved to GG in June and I've heard more about Halloween than anything else Our two kids are little, so we probably won't participate in the super scary things, but I would love to help out in any other area. Just let me know what I can do. Thanks! ~Lisa

The GG Halloween Event this year will include a variety of family friendly activities for all ages to help raise funds for our Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center (CBEC) friends. We will kick off the event at 2 PM with a focus on our younger residents. After the sun goes down we will open the haunted house. We would like to include the middle school/high school youth to assist with activities for the smaller children and staff a bake sale. Specifically we are looking for 6-10 kids to help collect tickets, run face painting, and guide smaller children with arts/crafts. Would your middle/high school student like to help out? Would you like to help coordinate this part of our event? Please contact Heather Z. at heatherzeitlin@yahoo.com or call 301-233-6274 for more information. We will also need baked goods to sell at the event and are always accepting cash donations.
This is going to be another great Halloween and we look forward to working with the community to have fun and help support CBEC. Thanks, Heather Z. and the GG Halloween Team (Liz S., Debbie E., Larry D., Ryan H., and Josh M.)

Please take a look at the attached flyer for our community event on Oct 27th. What a fantastic event this is turning out to be. We will be raising money for CBEC, allowing our youth to earn service credits for working the event, and providing an opportunity for everyone to see what an awesome community this is! The Fall Festival is open to the public and will be a cash only, carnival style event with tickets used to participate in the activities. Elm Street, Koch homes, and Chester River Landscaping have generously donated and there are are so many people who are working ahrd to make this really, really fun. Flyers will go out to the local schools, and the builders and Elm Street will all be advertising as well...so be prepared for lots of people in the neighborhood that day! Following the event will be a super scary haunted house put on by Ryan Helfenbein, Larry Doyle, Josh Miller, the Pell's, and the Sann's. You won't want to miss it!!! Feel free to email Heather Zeitlin or me with any questions. Attachments:

Also, does anyone have a small kiddie pool that we could borrow for the Fall Festival. We are going to use it for a duck pond carnival game.
We also wanted to set up some corn hole games if anyone is willing to let us use their cornhole set.
If so, email me at lizsann@gmail.com.
